Product Description
Raymarine Quantum 2 Radar with Doppler

The Raymarine Quantum 2 CHIRP Doppler Radar is a compact solid-state marine radar designed for modern trailer boats, cruisers and offshore fishing vessels.
Using advanced CHIRP pulse compression radar technology, Quantum 2 delivers excellent target separation, fast radar start-up and very low power consumption. The integrated Doppler collision avoidance technology highlights moving radar contacts and colour-codes them so skippers can quickly identify approaching vessels and potential hazards.
The Quantum 2 radar integrates seamlessly with Raymarine Axiom chartplotters, allowing radar targets to overlay directly on navigation charts for improved situational awareness when boating offshore or navigating in poor visibility.
At Shotgun Marine, we supply and install Raymarine radar
systems from our Port Macquarie workshop, helping boat owners design complete marine electronics systems that integrate radar, chartplotters and sonar.
Easily Identify Dangerous Targets
Raymarine Quantum 2 Doppler target processing instantly identifies and color codes moving radar contacts for instant recognition and reduced risk of unfortunate events like collision.
Superior Collision Avoidance
Quantum 2 MARPA mode offers an effective way of dangerous target tracking. Raymarine MARPA target tracking is the same technology used and trusted by Coast Guard in America.
Raymarine Quantum 2 Radar Features
- Doppler collision avoidance – instantly highlights moving radar targets and colour-codes them for quick identification.
- CHIRP pulse compression radar – provides excellent target detection and separation at both short and long range.
- 24 nautical mile radar range – ideal for coastal navigation, collision avoidance and weather detection.
- Detect targets as close as 6 metres – excellent for navigating in crowded harbours and marinas.
- Solid-state radar technology – instant start-up with no warm-up time.
- Wi-Fi or RayNet networking – simple integration with Raymarine chartplotters.
Quantum Radar vs Open Array Radar
The Raymarine Quantum radar is designed for trailer boats, cruisers and mid-size offshore fishing boats that need a compact radar system.
Larger offshore vessels may use open array radar systems such as the Raymarine Magnum radar, which provide longer detection range and higher transmitter power.
Quantum radar offers excellent performance for most recreational boats while remaining lightweight, energy efficient and easy to install.
Raymarine Radar Installation
Installing radar correctly is essential for accurate target detection and safe navigation. Radar scanners should be mounted high on the vessel to maximise detection range and reduce blind spots.
Shotgun Marine specialises in professional Raymarine radar installation including radar mounting, RayNet networking and full radar configuration with compatible chartplotters.
Our Port Macquarie workshop installs marine electronics systems for boat owners across NSW, ensuring radar, chartplotters, sonar and autopilot systems integrate correctly.

Raymarine Quantum Radar FAQ
What is the range of the Raymarine Quantum radar?
The Raymarine Quantum radar has a maximum range of approximately 24 nautical miles. Its CHIRP pulse compression technology allows excellent target detection and separation at both short and medium ranges, making it ideal for coastal navigation and offshore fishing.
Does Raymarine Quantum radar work with Axiom chartplotters?
Yes. Raymarine Quantum radar integrates directly with Raymarine Axiom chartplotters and other compatible Raymarine multifunction displays, allowing radar overlay directly on charts and full radar control from the display.
What is Doppler radar on the Raymarine Quantum 2?
The Quantum 2 radar includes Doppler collision avoidance technology. Moving radar targets are automatically colour coded so skippers can quickly identify vessels moving toward them or away from them, improving safety when navigating in busy waterways or poor visibility.
Can Raymarine Quantum radar connect via Wi-Fi?
Yes. Quantum radar can connect to compatible Raymarine chartplotters using built-in Wi-Fi or via RayNet cable depending on the installation and vessel electronics network.
Is Raymarine Quantum radar good for small boats?
Yes. Quantum radar is lightweight, compact and energy efficient, making it ideal for trailer boats, cruisers and mid-size offshore fishing vessels where power consumption and installation weight are important factors.
